Key to Fundraising
The biggest challenge with Fundraising is that people hate asking for money. Unfortunately, there's not really a remedy for this besides facing your fears. Our biggest piece of advice is to start small. Ask family and close friends to build some confidence. Once you get more comfortable with asking for donations, start expanding your network. You can ask old teachers, people from church, co-workers, neighbors, and more! You'll be surprised by who is willing to support you. Remember, it never hurts to ask, and the only way people will know to help will be if you tell them about it!
While you are asking, remember why you joined Habitat and what you've gained from it. Habitat for Humanity is a well-known cause, so a lot of people are willing to donate. Every dollar fundraised goes directly towards a Habitat house and helps provide the next Habitat partner family with a place to call home.
